As an inclusive theatre company, indelarts provides professional opportunities for artists and community members who identify as disabled or neurodivergent, presenting original work challenging the perceptions of audiences and industry alike. In the community, indelarts workshop programs nurture the well-being of participants through ongoing skills development, fostering acceptance and understanding for those who usually feel marginalised, discriminated against, or excluded from arts practice.
Indelarts also connects the arts industry to the disability sector, promoting accessibility and inclusivity within arts practices and community spaces.
Mystery Quest is an interactive theatre adventure where kids step into a glitching digital world filled with trolls, dragons, and hidden secrets. Mystery Quest helps kids explore the digital world with curiosity, caution and confidence, picking up essential online skills that last a lifetime, while adults love the nods to classics like Atari, Nintendo 64, PlayStation, Wii, Game Boy, and even Carmen Sandiego…
Key Engagement
- indelarts was invited to present a 60-second teaser reel of Mystery Quest at QShowcase 2025 in Toowoomba.
- The Showcase provided a focused opportunity to engage directly with touring presenters and venue programmers from across Queensland and regional centres, introducing the work at an early stage in a concise, high-impact format designed to spark programming interest.
Outcomes
- Following the QShowcase presentation in Toowoomba, several venues expressed interest in presenting Mystery Quest. This contributed to a developing touring footprint for 2027, including Redlands, Cairns, Caloundra, and The Empire (Toowoomba), with ongoing discussions also underway with several other Queensland venues.
In addition, Mystery Quest was presented to approximately 300 students at Palmview State School on the Sunshine Coast in November 2025, extending the work’s early engagement into a school setting. The production also premiered at Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) in December 2025 to a dedicated schools audience, marking its first full presentation in a formal venue context.
Reflections
QTouring identified the potential of showcasing indelarts at an industry-wide event. Developing the company’s work is dependent on cultivating conversations and relationships with multiple partners, and Showcase exposure helped indelarts to initiate important alliances.
"Presenting at the QTouring Showcase in Toowoomba proved effective in generating early-stage industry engagement. The 60-second teaser format demonstrated that even minimal material, when clearly communicated in a curated industry setting, can effectively convey the work’s concept and potential for touring" says indelarts General Manager, Vicki Buenen
"The concentration of presenters in one setting enabled efficient relationship-building and immediate follow-up conversations.”

Looking Ahead
indelarts is continuing to progress discussions with interested presenters to confirm remaining dates and finalise touring arrangements for 2027, including potential presentation in Western Australia and NSW, pending Playing Australia funding.
Further engagement will build on the momentum generated in Toowoomba, strengthening Mystery Quest’s touring pathway and expanding its reach across Queensland and beyond.
