Overview

Cultural engagement and participation is recognised by Scenic Rim Regional Council as integral to building community capacity. The Scenic Rim is a regional government area covering over 4,238sq km in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

This captivating region has breathtaking landscapes, World Heritage listed National Parks, rich agricultural farmlands, annual art and food festivals, hardworking communities, and growing urban footprints.

Council's Cultural Services Team manage a range of diverse and engaging cultural programs that take place in the venue hire centres: The Centre Beaudesert and Art Gallery, Boonah Cultural Centre and Boonah Cinema, and Vonda Youngman Community Centre at Tamborine Mountain.

Objectives

We are the 'Creative Scenic Rim': a place to celebrate and support local artists, explore regional history and share with visitors.

A range of diverse and engaging cultural programs are delivered including exhibitions, performances, workshops, school holiday activities, public art projects and Regional Arts Development Fund grants.

Here you'll be able to find events to entertain, opportunities to expand your skills, information about grants and expressions of interest to expand your horizons and an Artist Database so opportunities can find you.

We're working to be a hub that supports a vibrant and thriving cultural community... a Creative Scenic Rim.

Audience Insights

We have a strong senior audience and the Scenic Rim region is now attracting young families as it is just an hour's drive from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast in south-east Queensland.

All of our venues provide a range of facilities that enable visitors of varying abilities to attend performances, events and exhibitions. All three centres have level access or ramps and wheelchair-accessible toilets with baby change table facilities. All venues have stages accessible by a lift.
