Once an Ambulance Station, now an Arts Hub...
Located on Gubbi Gubbi country in the heart of Nambour/Namba, the ‘Old Ambo’ is the Sunshine Coast’s only multi-arts facility.
It houses an art gallery, a purpose-built 80-seat black box theatre, dedicated meeting spaces, a sloped Ramp space and several creative studios occupied by arts tenants.
Our TAKEOVER program works with artists to bring new ideas and events to life in our various spaces.
The Old Ambo is an independent not-for-profit organisation run by the generosity of a board of volunteers.

Discover live music, theatre, comedy nights, workshops, and special events at The Black Box, the dedicated performance space within The Old Ambulance Station.
The Old Ambo welcomes local and visiting theatre companies, bands, and individual artists to view the facility and include it in their plans when they need an intimate performance space or a soundproof film or recording environment.
The venue has the capacity to seat 80 - 100 people, features a segmented stage that can be moved to alternate positions, is air-conditioned, soundproof and has a sound system and theatre lighting.
