This intimate, theatre-style venue is perfect for smaller, more exclusive events. With its classic wood paneling, tiered seating and parquetry stage, this space creates a warm and inviting atmosphere for performances and presentations. With full audiovisual equipment, the auditorium suits ‘in conversation’ and forum-style events and has a capacity of 108.

This is the largest auditorium at State Library and features a timber floor, open-plan design, high ceilings and options for natural light and river views. Equipped with permanent lighting, sound, a large projector and screen, it is ready for quick and easy use. Seating can be arranged in various configurations, including theatre, cabaret, banquet or cocktail style. A green room with dressing rooms complements the space. It has a capacity of 250 for a cocktail function, 128 for cabaret, 160 for banquet and 300 for theatre seating.

Encased in full-length windows, this captivating space gives the impression of being suspended over the Brisbane River. Providing a stunning venue against the dramatic city skyline at night, the Red Box is a hidden treasure and the perfect space for a small ceremony or dinner reception. Tiered wooden seating leads to the space, ideal for ceremonies, presentations or performances. It seats 40 guests for a ceremony and has capacity for 40 for a cocktail function and 30 for a banquet.

The Queensland Terrace is the epitome of elegance with exquisite 6-metre ceilings, Chillagoe marble floors and a collection of vintage teacups in the glass cabinets that line its walls. Taking advantage of Queensland’s climate, the unique open-air design brings the outside in, with views of the city and the surrounding flora while still providing protection against the elements.

Ideal for: wedding ceremonies and receptions, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, presentations.
