D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective is a Sunshine Coast-based multicultural contemporary theatre company that provides performing arts experiences of the highest calibre for audience members who come to see our shows, artists in search of purposeful development opportunities, school students and the community who participate in our training program and engagement activities.

Amor is a visually stunning and emotionally charged physical theatre experience that transcends traditional storytelling.

D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective’s multicultural ensemble weaves movement, visual poetry, and multilingual narratives in English, Mandarin, and Spanish to explore love’s in-betweenness—where love meets anger, courage dances with fear, and compassion faces indifference. Featuring breathtaking aerial elements, the performance unfolds in a non-conventional space with no stage or seats, immersing audiences in a truly unique experience.

D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective offers a range of engagement activities alongside Amor, allowing communities to connect with the production beyond the performance. These activities explore the play’s themes and creative methodologies while being adaptable to local needs.

1. Post-Show Q&As - provide audiences with the chance to discuss Amor with the performers and director, either informally or through structured discussions at the venue.

2. Performance Workshops - introduce participants to the techniques used in the production, including Physical Theatre, Devising, Contemporary Performance, and Theatre of the Oppressed. These can be tailored for schools or the wider community.

3. Movement & Creative Writing Workshop - guides participants through D.I.V.E.’s unique devising and writing process, blending movement, role play, and text composition to create expressive and poetic stage work.

4. For secondary students, Amor offers rich material for Drama, Theatre Studies, and English, covering physical and contemporary theatre, fragmentation, non-linear forms, and site-specific performance. Teacher resources are available.

5. Community engagement is central to Amor, encouraging discussions on love, compassion, identity, and social constraints. D.I.V.E. collaborates with presenters to tailor programs that leave a lasting cultural impact, fostering dialogue, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for contemporary theatre.
