About the work

An immersive story about love’s subtle nuances in a captivating physical theatre spectacle.

Dive deep into the enigmatic essence of love's in-between spaces with Amor, a new devised physical theatre spectacle brought to life by the D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective.

Amor is an exploration of love's subtle nuances. Within a mesmerising visual and sound landscape, D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective’s multicultural ensemble takes their place at the crossroads of love and its polar opposites. Love meets anger, compassion faces indifference, courage dances with fear — these extremes converge in a captivating display that is as thought-provoking as it is emotionally stirring.

Every person holds a love story, and Amor leads the audience on a journey into their own narrative. The show incites reflection on what separates one from others and what binds us all together in the collective story of humanity.

This production shatters traditional boundaries with D.I.V.E.'s unique blend of breathtaking aerial performances, movement, visual poetry and compelling narratives in three different languages. In a non-conventional theatre setting where there are no stages or seats, spectators stand alongside the performers, embarking on a visceral and emotional experience.

As we challenge conventions and approach love from diverse angles, Amor beckons the audience to explore the depths of love's in-betweenness, asking: What is your journey, and what do you really love?

Reviews

“The interactions with the audience added to the message. I always feel joy when someone says “I love you” and this at the beginning and ending of the play, was a real message of love from the director and cast to us, the audience.”

"I went to see the play ‘Amor’ last night. Oh! It was such a visceral exploration of love - like a living breathing poem. The three other performers (Colombian, Irish and Chinese) took our breath away."
