About the work

An experimental sound-bath of electronic art.

Full Spectrum is a site-responsive performance work from multi award-winning composer and sound designer, Anna Whitaker, and projection artist, Riley Towers.

Part-performance-art-part-gig, immerse yourself in a loud and chaotic world of loops, distortions and filters made live on stage, as original music collides with live-programmed visuals.

A “love letter to AV” (Nothing Ever Happens In Brisbane), Anna and Riley invite you to a safe space to move, groove, or lay and let it all wash over you, as you take in a smorgasbord of thrilling textures for the eyes and ears, a collage of vocals and visuals.

About the company

Interstage

Interstage is a Magandjin / Brisbane-based producing house for emerging performance makers.

We focus on the development, both creatively and professionally, of emerging contemporary performance makers by supporting their works from idea, to production, to tour with development opportunities and mentoring.

Run by Producer, Nicholas Southey, we aim to bridge the gap between emerging and established practice by equipping artists with the tools to forge a sustainable career in the arts. We do this through sector advocacy, artist management, and development initiatives.

Technical Considerations

We are able to suit the scale and programming constraints of your community/venue. To help, we roughly categorise these as "LoFi", "Standard" and "Lux" versions:

"LoFi" — if you have a space, a projector and a couple speakers, we can make it work (Touring Party = 2 pax)
"Standard" — in-theatre / black-box version with at least 1 x good quality projector and at least 1 x floor-to-ceiling (or similarly large) projection surface (Touring Party = 2-3 pax)
"Lux" — in-theatre / black-box version with 3-4 x good quality projectors and 3-4 x floor-to-ceiling (or similarly large) projection surfaces (Touring Party = 3 pax)

These are not strict categories and we can work to find the version that suits you.

We can also arrange hire and transport of projectors at an additional cost if a presenter does not have access to appropriate equipment.

Marketing & Engagement

Unique Selling Point

Full Spectrum is part-performance-art-part-gig designed to flex to different spaces, budgets and presenting capacities. It has been described as "a love letter to av" full of kaleidoscopic images and 3D-audio where no two shows are quite the same.

The interplay of live experimental music and multi-surface projection creates a must-do night-out for people seeking unique experiences and lovers of live music and interactive installations.

Likewise, with visuals and sound created live in front of an intimate audience, Full Spectrum will be particularly appealing to fans of experimental music, sound and projection art who want to peek behind the curtain.

Engagement

In collaboration with communities and with appropriate technical support, Full Spectrum can serve as an activation of any space that the community wants activated. Whether it's in front of the local town hall, at the bowls club, or in a car park. We are keen to get rough and ready to make Full Spectrum happen near you, for you.

Additionally, the team can provide Workshops in projection and sound design.
