​Funding Partners: HIGH TEA with BOOFF has been assisted by The Australian Government through Creative Australia for the Arts funding and advisory body and the Queensland Government through the Arts Queensland Showcase Program and Playing Queensland Quick Response Grant.

HIGH TEA with BOOFF has been created to service the global festival, community, and corporate markets – oscillating (depending on the audience) between a PG – R Rating. BOOFF resonates with various program platforms, from contemporary performance programs to queer, comedy, theatre, cabaret, and arts festivals, to community and corporate events – even on a barge floating down the Brisbane River.

BOOFF is housed within an air-conditioned custom-built 20ft shipping container that expands to create a 6m x 5m venue. The container is a high-cube style unit - - that has been richly transformed down to the finest detail.

HIGH TEA with BOOFF extends beyond performance into active community engagement.
Clown workshops are offered to schools and community groups, focusing on play, presence, physical storytelling and resilience through laughter.

These sessions are suitable for primary, secondary and adult participants, and can be tailored to curriculum outcomes or community wellbeing objectives. Participants develop confidence, communication skills and creative risk-taking in a safe, highly supportive environment.

Community High Tea Conversations may also be hosted, inviting elders and local participants into the installation space to share stories and memories. This encourages intergenerational exchange and deepens local connection to the themes of ritual, belonging and family history explored in the work.

Artist talks and open rehearsal opportunities for emerging practitioners can further support local sector development.

The cultural legacy of the tour lies in what remains: strengthened community bonds, practical creative tools embedded in schools and arts networks, and renewed value placed on storytelling as a way of preserving identity. Beyond the performance, BOOFF leaves skills, shared laughter, and a lasting invitation for communities to gather, remember and celebrate the extraordinary within the ordinary.
