About the work

Get ready for the foot-stomping, rib-tickling, toe-tapping time of your life at the Proudfoot & Friends stage show spectacular!

Catering to 3–7-year-olds, Proudfoot & Friends is a 45-minute interactive comedy-musical featuring original songs, unique puppeteering and choreographed animated projections that delight and captivate little ones (and big ones!). As proud First Nation’s performer Lucas leads them on a hilarious interactive sing-along adventure.

Lucas's performance centers on universal themes of caring for country and each other as he engages young audiences through music, movement and humor.

Through the eyes of his preschool-age characters Ned and Sis’, Lucas explores early educational and social-emotional learning experiences in an engaging and relatable way. His profound connection with his audience drives a story world focused on respect, friendship and culture – key areas of focus for the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

This is truly a unique offering because animated characters who appear on-screen can interact with Lucas and the audience via puppeteering technology which is controlled back-stage.

The live stage musical incorporates 11 original songs written and recorded specifically for the show by Lucas with music producers Garret Kato and Dobby and songwriting collaborations with Dobby, Annie Hamilton, Sally Seltman and Josh Pyke.

Lucas was phenomenal. He had the children eating out of the palm of his hand and the teachers in hysterics.
