NUDO (meaning knot in Spanish) is a cultural and contemporary dance company who create atmospherically capturing and culturally grounded movement works. Reflecting the artistic visions of Cuban dance artist Yasim Coronado Veranes, NUDO brings together a diverse ensemble of dancers.

Founded in 2020, NUDO has rapidly established a distinct presence within the independent dance sector, building a loyal and engaged audience through a self-produced model. The company has independently created and presented full-length works including Between Olas, Granted and Criollo, with sold-out seasons at major Brisbane venues.

Sharing powerful stories held in the dance lineages and experiences of their artists, NUDO creates compelling new dance that pays homage to deep roots and ancient ties, and is dedicated to developing rigorous, safe and respectful practices for working with cultural and contemporary dance.

Granted is a powerful, contemporary dance-theatre work grounded in real stories of migration from NUDO’s ensemble. Blending cultural, contemporary and urban dance styles with an international soundtrack, the work offers a visceral and deeply human experience. Its strength lies in its authenticity—centering lived experience while exploring themes of identity, separation and belonging. Both intimate and expansive, Granted resonates widely with audiences, particularly in culturally diverse communities, while offering a high-quality, emotionally engaging performance that is both politically relevant and artistically compelling.

A range of marketing collateral is available, including high-resolution production images, promo video and performance footage, along with existing marketing copy, artist bios and project descriptions. NUDO has developed strong digital assets through its self-produced works, including social media content and audience engagement materials. For touring, we can provide a comprehensive digital marketing kit with adaptable copy, imagery and video content for presenters. Additional documentation and updated visual assets can be created to support promotion and reflect each presentation context.

Granted offers a range of engagement opportunities that extend the work beyond performance, centred on storytelling, cultural exchange and embodied practice. Workshops can be delivered alongside presentations, inviting participants to explore the movement languages within the work and reflect on themes of identity, migration and belonging.

Where appropriate, the creative team can also facilitate conversations or artist talks that unpack the lived experiences behind the work, creating space for dialogue and shared reflection.
